The Senators are 1-1-0, including a 5-0 loss at the Winnipeg Jets on Sunday. They've scored two goals or fewer in eight of their past nine games and are 1-7-1 in that stretch.
The Ducks finished a six-game road trip with a 4-3 shootout loss to the Vegas Golden Knights on Tuesday. Anaheim has lost two in a row and is 1-4-2 in its past seven.
Mark Stone, Ottawa's leading scorer, missed practice on Tuesday with an illness. Anaheim forward Jakob Silfverberg has missed the past three games with an upper-body injury. Each will be a game-time decision.

Players to watch

Ottawa forward Nate Thompson returns to Anaheim, where he played the past three seasons. He helped the Ducks advance to the Western Conference Finals last season with six points (two goals, four assists) in 17 Stanley Cup Playoff games.
Ducks goalie Ryan Miller will make his sixth start of the season and second in the past three games. He's 2-0-4 with a 2.02 goals-against average and a .936 save percentage.

Status reports

Anderson will start after relieving Condon in the loss at Winnipeg. He has started 18 of 25 games this season but hasn't won since a 4-3 victory against the Colorado Avalanche in Stockholm, Sweden, on Nov. 11. … Getzlaf and Kesler took part in the optional morning skate but aren't expected to rejoin the Ducks until a six-game road trip beginning Dec. 14 against the St. Louis Blues.
