Preview: Wild at Maple Leafs

Wild team scope

The Minnesota Wild conclude a five-game road trip against the Toronto Maple Leafs and are coming off a 2-1 overtime win against the Edmonton Oilers on Sunday. The Wild are 1-1-2 during the road trip and are hoping to end it on a high note. "I think it's a big challenge for us," goalie Devan Dubnyk said. "Each game progressively on this trip as far as stopping the other team's offense has been a new challenge and it's no different tonight. These guys got a lot of young talent that's able to put the puck in the net and they're real good in this building. Just having that challenge is enough for us to be ready to go." Dubnyk will make his 300th career start. He's 3-0-2 in his past five games and leads the NHL with a .946 save percentage. Minnesota shuffled their lines on Wednesday with Nino Niederreiter and Zach Parise switching spots. Niederreiter has three goals and four assists in the past seven games and Parise has not scored a point in his past four. "I never thought my game had gone anywhere, just last game I didn't have the good looks; they didn't go in," Parise said. "Going back a couple [games], I didn't play as well as I'd like to in Vancouver or Calgary so it's been a little bit of a struggle lately, but that's the way it goes sometimes."

Maple Leafs team scope

Although center Nazem Kadri missed practice on Tuesday with the flu, he skated on Wednesday and will play against the Wild. "Just rest, water, hydrate, I had an IV yesterday to help me feel better," Kadri said. "I think that helped me a little bit. Just try to do those little things like rest and hydrate to make you feel better." Forward William Nylander will center the fourth line. Nylander had been playing right wing during home games on Auston Matthews' line. "Someone else (Connor Brown) is in his spot and they're playing well," coach Mike Babcock said. "Willie, I think he played 20 and 17 minutes the last couple games. The reason I know that is I checked. Normally I wouldn't check, but because him being a fourth line center I checked so he's playing lots of different spots and right now we're counting 10 guys for nine spots and right now this works good for us." The Maple Leafs have lost two straight games and will start Frederik Andersen for the 21st time this season.
