In 2013-14, Soshnikov had 13 points (five goals, eight assists) in 10 games for Atlant Moscow's junior team before moving up to play for Atlant in the Kontinental Hockey League, where he had five points (two goals, three assists) in 33 games. In 2016-17, he had nine points (five goals, four assists) in 56 games with the Maple Leafs.
He began the 2017-18 season with Toronto in the AHL, but was recalled by the Maple Leafs on Nov. 14, 2017, the deadline to call him up before a clause in his contract would kick in allowing him to return to the KHL. Soshnikov played in three games (zero points) before he was sent back down to Toronto. On Feb. 15, 2018, he was acquired by the St. Louis Blues and had two points (one goal, one assist) in 12 games.
