Jack Hughes has been on a whirlwind since scoring the gold-medal winning goal for Team USA against Team Canada at the 2026 Winter Olympics.
He appeared on "The Today Show," "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon," "Saturday Night Live," and "The Pat McAfee Show."
And through it all, he always wondered if he would get the chance to throw out the first pitch at a New York Yankees game.
That chance came on Friday, when the New Jersey Devils forward got to live out his dream before the Yankees defeated the Miami Marlins, 8-2, in their home opener at Yankee Stadium.
"Like when everything went down, this was like the one thing I was wondering if it would happen," Hughes said in a press conference in quotes provided by the Associated Press. "I knew a lot of things were coming, but I was like, this is the one thing, I was always like wishing, slash, hoping for, and then when I was like, Opening Day. Like wow, that's, that's almost too much, man. That's a lot of pressure."
