After collecting four points in two nights, the Nashville Predators will try for wins in three straight when they host the San Jose Sharks tonight at Bridgestone Arena. It's the second of three meetings between the two clubs this season; the Preds fell in San Jose back in November and will host the Sharks once more at the end of March.
The Predators recovered from losing two consecutive games in regulation by winning both outings of a back-to-back set on Monday and Tuesday with wins over Ottawa and Detroit. Viktor Arvidsson has starred so far this week, collecting three goals in two games, including the game-winner on Tuesday night in Detroit, his 21st marker of the season.

There's also a chance at a major milestone tonight with Preds goaltender Pekka Rinne sitting on 299 career victories. If he were to start and collect a win tonight, he would become just the 34th goaltender in NHL history to reach the 300-win plateau.

Last Time Out:
In addition to Arvidsson's tally, Scott Hartnell and Kyle Turris also found the back of the net in a 3-2 win against the Red Wings at Little Caesars Arena. Juuse Saros earned his sixth win of the season with 34 saves in net as the Predators collected points 80 and 81 on the season to keep them in first place in the Central Division.
Defenseman P.K. Subban leads Nashville with 46 points, followed by Filip Forsberg with 41 and Arvidsson with 40. Arvidsson's 21 goals pace the club, followed by Kevin Fiala and Craig Smith have 18 goals apiece.
The Opposition:
San Jose has won three straight, including a 3-2 victory over St. Louis on Tuesday night to begin a four-game trip. Much like the Preds, the Sharks are also led in scoring by a defenseman, with Brent Burns atop the leaderboard with 50 points. Logan Couture leads the team with 24 goals and is second in scoring with 46 points, while Joe Pavelski has 45. Martin Jones has posted a 19-15-5 record in net; Aaron Dell is 14-4-3 on the season.

All-Time Meetings:
The Predators are 32-27-(2)-7 all-time against the Sharks, including a 19-11-(1)-2 all-time against San Jose at Bridgestone Arena. At home, Nashville has won seven of eight over San Jose and has points in eight straight (7-0-1). In the last eight meetings between the Preds and Sharks at Bridgestone Arena, Nashville has limited San Jose to two or fewer goals seven times and scored at least five goals four times.
Notables Versus San Jose:
Mattias Ekholm scored his first career NHL goal versus San Jose on Jan. 7, 2014, while Scott Hartnell set his career high for assists in a game with four at San Jose on Oct. 23, 2014. Pekka Rinne's .942 save percentage against San Jose is his highest against all but two NHL teams (Buffalo and Montreal).
