The Nashville Predators (36-28-8) will face off against the Boston Bruins (57-11-5) on Tuesday at TD Garden.

Last Time Out

Nashville moved to 18-14-4 at home in 2022-23 with Sunday's loss to Toronto, and the Predators closed out their two-game, regular-season series against the Maple Leafs with an 0-2-0 record.
Nashville scored its first power-play goal since March 12, snapping an 0-for-20 slide. Cody Glass' goal was his fourth on the power play this season, matching his career high set in 2020-21 with Vegas. Tyson Barrie tallied a goal and an assist to give him back-to-back multi-point games.

All-Time Meetings

The Predators are 14-16-(1)-3 all-time against the Bruins, including a 4-8-(1)-3 record on the road. This is the second and final matchup between Nashville and Boston in 2022-23 and the first and only at TD Garden.
Nashville is 0-1-0 against Boston this season, falling 5-0 on Feb. 16 at Bridgestone Arena.

  • Dante Fabbro played three seasons of collegiate hockey for Boston University from 2016-19, appearing in 111 games while posting 80 points (22g-58a), the most among team defensemen in that span.
  • Jeremy Lauzon was drafted by Boston in the second round (52nd overall) of the 2015 NHL Draft. He played in 76 games for the Bruins from 2018-21.
  • Predators Head Coach John Hynes and Assistant General Manager/Director of Scouting Jeff Kealty both played college hockey at Boston University. Hynes and Kealty helped lead the Terriers to four consecutive Frozen Four appearances and the 1995 NCAA title.
  • Hynes made his debut as Predators head coach on Jan. 7, 2020 against Boston at Bridgestone Arena, the same day his hiring was announced.

The Good Guys

  • Goaltender Juuse Saros is 25-14-6 with a 2.66 goals-against average and .920 save percentage in his last 45 games dating back to Nov. 12. His 25 wins in that time frame are tied for the sixth-most in the NHL; he is tied for fourth in save percentage since Nov. 12 (among goalies with at least 20 GP). Out of Saros' 28 wins this season, 15 have come in games decided by one goal.
  • Roman Josi (currently day-to-day with an upper-body injury) has 53 points (17g-36a) in his last 57 games after scoring on March 16 vs. Chicago. He has recorded at least one point in 23 of his last 33 contests.
  • Luke Evangelista has nine points (5g-4a) in his first 14 career NHL games after recording a career-high four points (2g-2a) on March 21 at Buffalo. Evangelista became the second rookie in Predators history to record a four-point game, joining Dan Hamhuis (1g-4a on March 4, 2004 at Pittsburgh). All four of his points came in the second period, Evangelista recorded three points in a span of 6:01, marking the fastest a rookie has ever done so for the Predators. Since his NHL debut on Feb. 28 vs. Pittsburgh, Evangelista is third among NHL rookies in points (9).
  • Tommy Novak has 34 points (14g-20a) in 41 games with Nashville since being recalled from Milwaukee (AHL) on Dec. 19. In a 20-game span since Feb. 18, Novak has posted 23 points (10g-13a) - tied for the 12th-most among NHL skaters - including six multi-point efforts. Since his season debut, only Roman Josi (12g-24a) has posted more points than Novak for Nashville.
  • Since making his season debut on Feb. 13 vs. Arizona, Philip Tomasino has recorded 16 points (4g-12a) in 21 games. He has 10 points (2g-8a) in his last nine games after tallying an assist on Sunday vs. Toronto.
  • After opening the season with three points (1g-2a) in his first 16 appearances (Oct. 7-Dec. 12), Glass owns 25 points (10g-15a) in his last 46 games. He's found the scoresheet in 15 of his last 31 games (7g-10a) and established career highs in goals (11), assists (17) and points (28) this season.
  • Barrie extended his point streak to four games (2g-4a) after tallying a goal and an assist on Sunday vs. Toronto. Since being acquired from Edmonton on Feb. 28, the defenseman has recorded nine points (3g-6a) in 14 games.
  • Kiefer Sherwood has points in six of his last 13 games (3g-4a).
  • Colton Sissons tallied an assist on March 14 vs. Detroit to give him 14 points (5g-9a) in his last 31 outings. Sitting at 27 points (11g-16a), he is three from matching his career high of 30, set in 2018-19 (15g-15a).

The Other Guys

Boston is the NHL's top team with 119 points on the season. After a 4-3 shootout victory over the Carolina Hurricanes on Sunday, the Bruins are riding a seven-game win streak into Tuesday's game.
David Pastrnak leads the Bruins in points with 97 (51g-46a), and his 51 goals are also a team high. He ranks among the Top 10 NHL skaters in both categories. Boston's goaltending tandem of Linus Ullmark and Jeremy Swayman rank among the Top Five netminders in the NHL in multiple categories; Ullmark leads the league in goals-against average (1.92) and save percentage (.937), while Swayman ranks third (2.21) and fourth (.921) in each category, respectively.
