Lauzon was selected by the Boston Bruins in the second round (No. 52) of the 2015 NHL Draft after his second season with Rouyn-Noranda of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League, where he had 36 points (15 goals, 21 assists) in 60 games.
After signing an entry-level contract with Boston on Nov. 12, 2015, Lauzon played two mores seasons with Rouyn-Noranda, including in 2015-16, when he was tied for fifth among defensemen in the QMJHL with 50 points (10 goals, 40 assists) despite only playing in 46 games.

Lauzon turned professional for the 2017-18 season, playing in 52 games for Providence of the American Hockey League. The 6-foot-1, 204-pound defenseman would also spend the majority of the following season in Providence, but he did play in 16 regular-season games for the Bruins, including scoring his first NHL goal in a 4-1 win against the Vegas Golden Knights on Nov. 11, 2018.
