-- Top 250 rankings: Washington Capitals left wing Alex Ovechkin and Dallas Stars forward Jamie Benn have risen in the upper echelon of NHL.com's overall fantasy rankings as a result of hits being made a standard category. Benn, who also retained dual eligibility in Yahoo, jumped to fourth among forwards (previously 14th) behind Ovechkin, Connor McDavid and Sidney Crosby.
-- Right wing rankings: Forwards Patric Hornqvist (Pittsburgh Penguins) and T.J. Oshie (Washington Capitals) gain value from the hits addition, and each provides exposure to a high-end power-play unit, making them bargains based on Yahoo average draft position. Hornqvist plays on a unit with forwards Crosby, Evgeni Malkin, Phil Kessel and defenseman Kris Letang. Oshie plays on a unit with forwards Ovechkin, Evgeny Kuznetsov, Nicklas Backstrom and defenseman John Carlson
-- Center rankings: As a result of the hits scoring change and team offseason improvements, centers Brayden Schenn and Vincent Trocheck have added fantasy appeal. The St. Louis Blues acquired Ryan O'Reilly, who joined the top 100 forwards after coach Mike Yeo said the center will start on the top line with right wing Vladimir Tarasenko, and the Florida Panthers landed wing Mike Hoffman, who could play on the second line with Trocheck.
