Wild lead best-of-7 series 1-0

DALLAS -- The Dallas Stars will try to get a split at home when they play the Minnesota Wild in Game 2 of the Western Conference First Round at American Airlines Center on Wednesday.
"We just have to come out and play our game," forward Luke Glendening said. "I thought parts of last game were really good for us and we have to play a full 60."
The Stars lost 3-2 in double overtime on Monday. Coach Peter DeBoer liked how the Stars improved as the game went on and said they need that same energy at the start of Game 2, which they didn't have early on Monday.
"When you're up one, you want to make that hole a little bit bigger obviously and when you're down one, it's all about your response," DeBoer said. "For me, it's still early in this series and we're feeling each other out.

"You obviously don't want to get down in a hole and lose both home games. For me, it's about our response. As the game went on, we got better. We have to build on the latter part of that game."
Here are 3 keys for Game 2:

1. Gustavsson ready for prime time

If there was any doubt Wild goalie Filip Gustavsson was prepared for his first Stanley Cup Playoffs start, he silenced it making 51 saves in Game 1. The Wild don't divulge their lineups during the postseason but he's expected to start Game 2.
"I thought he was great. Again, probably the best term I can put is as advertised," DeBoer said Tuesday. "He was one of the best goalies in the league all year and I thought he played like that last night."

2. Dellandrea ready for more

With Tyler Seguin taking injured Joe Pavelski's (concussion protocol) spot on the top line, forward Ty Dellandrea will move into Seguin's spot on the second line with left wing Mason Marchment and center Max Domi. He's played with the two before and Dellandrea knows what he has to do.
"Just support them," he said. "I find I can forecheck well and get them the puck and get in their O-zone and create O-zone opportunities. Whenever I get moved to a line like that I try to support them in that way, do a little bit of the dirty work for them, make plays and try to score some goals."

3. Special teams face-offs

The Wild want to be sure they're stronger on face-offs on the start of their penalty kills. They weren't on the first two kills in Game 1, and the Stars scored within a few seconds on both. They got better as the game continued.
"We talk about this a lot: it's everybody. We've got to be a little more on our toes and win some of those 50-50 pucks," Wild coach Dean Evason said Tuesday. "They obviously went right to them, both of those plays, where that puck went, but we have to get better on our face-offs for sure as a team. We thought we did some real good things on our penalty kill, as we've done all year, after that."
