RALEIGH, NC. -Goaltender Pyotr Kochetkov will make a fourth consecutive start Friday afternoon as the Carolina Hurricanes take on the Boston Bruins.
Rod Brind'Amour shared pre-game that Antti Raanta is "still a little nicked up" from an incident that occurred at Wednesday's morning skate. The 33-year-old veteran was scheduled to start that game but instead the team was forced to turn to the rookie Kochetkov. Carolina's head coach went on to say that Raanta is close enough to back up Kochetkov, as he did Wednesday, but he's not 100%. Wednesday night was the first regulation loss of Kochetkov's career, who is now 2-1-2 this season. He has allowed just 11 goals in his five games played. The only other lineup information provided by Brind'Amour is that the team will stick with the same skaters that they have been utilizing. Dylan Coghlan, who was not played since November 9, will remain the healthy extra. The lineup that the team went with Wednesday night at PNC Arena was: Forwards: Noesen - Aho - Necas Svechnikov - Drury - Jarvis Martinook - Staal - Fast Stastny - Kotkaniemi - Stepan Defense: Slavin - Burns Skjei - Pesce de Haan - Chatfield Goalies: Kochetkov Raanta Injuries: Frederik Andersen Ondrej Kase Teuvo Teravainen Scratches: Dylan Coghlan Worth A Click: Mailbag #43: Jeff O'Neill Vote Now For The Canes 25th Anniversary All-Time Team Sign Up To Watch Carolina Hurricanes Hockey Through Bally Sports+ 2022-23 Single Game Tickets Canes Announce Giveaway Schedule Hurricanes Hall of Fame Established Canes November Schedule
