The Charlotte Checkers completed the sweep of the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins in the first round of the Calder Cup Playoffs with a 7-3 win on the road in Game 3 on Thursday night.
The Checkers, who are now riding a 10-game winning streak that dates back to March 31, advance to the second round for the first time since 2011, where they await the winner of Lehigh Valley-Providence (series tied 1-1).
