MONTREAL - It's only fitting that the Boston Bruins will pay the Canadiens their first visit to the Bell Centre since legendary, Hall-of-Fame forward Guy Lafleur passed away from cancer on Friday.

TICKETS: Canadiens vs. Bruins
Lafleur was a veteran of 70 regular-season matchups between the Habs and Bruins, netting 32 goals and 47 assists for 79 points for Montreal against archrival Boston. He also scored 11 goals in 19 postseason games against the B's, including the overtime winner in Game 2 of the 1978 Stanley Cup Final as well as the game-winner in Game 5 of the 1979 Semifinals.
The Canadiens will pay homage to the five-time Stanley Cup winner prior to the game's start on Sunday in Montreal.
The game isn't the first since Lafleur's passing. The Habs were in Ottawa on Saturday, where they were defeated 6-4 by the Senators at the Canadian Tire Centre. The Sens also paid tribute to the Thurso native prior to puck drop.

Ottawa got off to an early start, with Mark Kastelic scoring his first career NHL goal just 2:33 into the game. And after Rem Pitlick squared things up later in the first, the Sens scored four straight - including Kastelic's second - before Cole Caufield and Joel Edmundson also lit the lamp in a busy second period to bring the Canadiens to within two. It was Caufield's 20th of the season. Alex Formenton made it a 6-3 game with under two minutes to go in the middle frame. And though Pitlick would add a second of his own at 8:19 of the third, the Canadiens couldn't overcome another two-goal deficit and lost. Carey Price turned aside 20 shots in the game.

MTL Recap: Pitlick scores twice in 6-4 defeat

In his pregame press conference, interim head coach Martin St-Louis announced that Sam Montembeault would get the start in goal, while Laurent Dauphin and William Lagesson would play in place of Ryan Poehling and Chris Wideman. The Habs also recalled goaltender Cayden Primeau from the AHL's Laval Rocket on Sunday afternoon (emergency recall).

MTL@OTT: Hockey Night in Canada honors Guy Lafleur

The Bruins have already booked their ticket to the 2022 Playoffs. They're in the first Wild Card position in the Eastern Conference, but are just three points back of catching the Tampa Bay Lightning for third place in the Atlantic Division.
Boston has three wins in its last four games. The B's beat the New York Rangers 3-1 on Saturday afternoon at home, giving themselves a two-point cushion over the Washington Capitals in the Wild Card race. David Pastrnak scored his 39th of the season - the 500th point of his career - in his return from an eight-game absence due to injury, while Taylor Hall and Trent Frederic also found twine for the home side. Linus Ullmark stopped 30 of 31 shots in the Boston crease on Saturday.
Ullmark won't play the second game of his team's back-to-back, however, as Jeremy Swayman is expected to defend the net for the Bruins in Montreal. Meanwhile, Pastrnak and Hampus Lindholm might hang back at home and rest on Sunday.
Pastrnak is one point behind Brad Marchand, who picked up his 43rd assist of 2021-22 against the Blueshirts, for the team lead of 74. Hall is third in team scoring with 57 points (18G, 39A), while Patrice Bergeron is one point behind him with 56 (20G, 36A).
The Bruins have won all three contests against the Canadiens this season. This is their final showdown of the campaign.
