HAZELWOOD, MO - Mike Yeo had the vast majority of the summer to think about his potential line combinations and defense pairs.
With the additions of Ryan O'Reilly, Tyler Bozak, David Perron and Pat Maroon in July to go along with a solid veteran core and a deep pool of prospects pushing for playing time, the Blues' head coach has pondered many of the endless possibilites.

While it's only Day 1 - everything is new, fresh, highly experimental and could change in an instant - here are some of the intriguing line combinations Yeo featured on Friday at the Ice Zone at St. Louis Outlet Mall.

Pat Maroon - Ryan O'Reilly - Vladimir Tarasenko
Jaden Schwartz - Brayden Schenn - David Perron
Alexander Steen - Tyler Bozak - Sammy Blais
Robby Fabbri - Robert Thomas - Dmitrij Jaskin
Zach Sanford - Ivan Barbashev - Jordan Kyrou
Defense
Joel Edmundson - Alex Pietrangelo
Jake Walman - Robert Bortuzzo
Vince Dunn - Colton Parayko
Jay Bouwmeester - Jordan Schmaltz
"We'll go into these first few days, and there might be a few things that bounce around, but for the most part we'll keep things consistent," Yeo said after Friday's practice sessions. "We'll try to get a read, try to learn some things. We'll learn from the scrimmages and learn more when we play against other NHL teams.
"I thought today had a good pace, no question," Yeo added. "When you look at what (GM Doug Armstrong) did in the summer with the guys he brought in, or some of the young guys and how they looked out there today, I feel we have more depth."
