Forward Patrick Kane will return to the ice in a Blackhawks sweater for the first time in in more than 1,300 days in Tuesday's game against Vegas. Last season, the forward logged 57 points (16G, 41A) in 67 regular-season games with Detroit. Kane, who has registered 1,400 points (508G, 892A) in 1,369 career regular-season NHL games, ranks first all-time in points among American-born players. The three-time Stanley Cup Champion with Chicago has earned the Calder (2008), Conn Smythe (2013), Art Ross (2016), Hart (2016) and Ted Lindsay (2016) awards during his time in Chicago.

BOWEN ARROW

After initially being acquired by the Blackhawks via trade on June 23, defenseman Bowen Byram signed a six-year contract extension with the club on July 1. Last season with the Buffalo Sabres, Byram registered a career-best 42 points (11G, 31A) in 82 contests, also tying career highs in goals (11) and assists (31). He's compiled 152 points (44G, 108A) in 328 career regular-season games with Buffalo and the Colorado Avalanche. Byram also won the Stanley Cup with the Avalanche in 2022, setting postseason career highs in assists and points (9) in 20 playoff contests.

IN FOR THE KILL

Last season, Chicago ranked second in the NHL with an 83.6% penalty kill (199-for-238). The Blackhawks allowed only 39 power play goals, the third-fewest in the NHL in 2025-26. This marked the fewest power play goals the team has given up in an 82-game season since posting 35 during the 2014-15 campaign. Ryan Greene scored his first career shorthanded goal on April 13 against Buffalo, giving the club six shorthanded goals on the season, tied for 15th in the NHL.
