COLE'S COUNTDOWN

Defenseman Ian Cole sits just four games (996) shy of 1,000 in his career. The veteran blueliner is on pace to become the 423rd player in NHL history to reach that milestone. Through six games in 2026-27, he paces the team in plus/minus (+2) and ranks third on the club in blocked shots (7). Over his 17-year NHL career, Cole has totaled 233 points (38G, 195A) to go along with 1,841 blocked shots and 1,256 hits.

ROMAN EMPEROR

Rookie forward Roman Kantserov netted his first career goal on Saturday against the Hurricanes, beating Brandon Bussi on the glove side in the second period. The Magnitogorsk, Russia native is the second rookie to score for the Blackhawks this season, joining Anton Frondell. Kantserov finished the 2025-26 season with 64 points (36G, 28A) in 63 games with Metallurg Magnitogorsk (KHL). His 36 goals and 64 points are the most recorded in a single season by a player under the age of 22 in league history.

KNIGHT AT THE MUSEUM

Goaltender Spencer Knight saved a season-high 34 shots on Saturday against the Hurricanes, including three attempts on the power play. This marked the Connecticut native's most stops in a game since a 35-save outing against New Jersey on March 29, 2026. The Chicago backstop ranks fourth in the league in high-danger saves (36) so far this season. Knight has turned away 30 or more shots in six of his last 13 outings, with two of those performances coming in 2026-27. Knight has 25 victories and needs just 53 more saves to reach 2,000 in a Blackhawks uniform. He would be just the 15th goaltender in franchise history to reach that mark and the first to accomplish the feat since teammate Arvid Soderblom reached the mark on Feb. 8, 2025.
