He'll soon be headed to his first All-Star Weekend, but for now, yet another accolade for Juuse Saros.
Nashville's goaltender was named the NHL's Second Star of the Month on Tuesday after a stellar January that also saw Saros named the NHL's Second Star of the Week early in the new year. This is the netminder's third-such honor from the League - he earned Third Star of the Week honors last season from March 22-28.
Simply put, Saros has been outstanding for the Predators this season, and his teammates have proclaimed him to be the League's top goaltender on numerous occasions over the past few months.

The 26-year-old Finn went 8-2-2 in the month of January with a 2.49 goals-against average and a .934 save percentage. Saros made 424 saves on 454 shots and had a single-game save percentage of at least .943 eight times in the month.
Among NHL goaltenders who have played in at least 25 games, Saros is first in starts (37); third in save percentage (.927); tied for third in wins (23); seventh in goals-against average (2.36); and tied for seventh in shutouts (2). He won 10 of 11 starts from Dec. 4-Jan. 11, posting a .937 save percentage and 2.16 goals-against average in that span.
He's made at least 40 saves in five games this season, tied with Anaheim's John Gibson for the most such outings in 2021-22. Since March 18, 2021, a 60-game span for Saros, he leads the NHL in wins (39) and save percentage (.933); is fourth in goals-against average (2.18); and tied for third in shutouts (5).
"We can't talk enough of how deserving he is of going to the All-Star Game," Preds Captain Roman Josi said of Saros on Monday. "He's been our best player all year. What he's done for us this year is pretty unbelievable. I've said before I think he's the best goalie in the League, and he's won us so many games, so obviously well-deserved. I remember my first one. It's pretty special, and I'm sure he's excited and I'm excited to be part of it with him."
"He's so consistent," Preds Head Coach John Hynes said of Saros last month. "He comes up with big saves when we need them at key times. He's very consistent in the way that he plays, and that's something that's really important. If you get that type of goaltending, you do have a chance to win every night. You can't be a real successful team unless you have the type of goaltending we're getting, and he's a key guy for us. But as I said, I think that just the consistency level that he can play with has been pretty impressive."
