Training Camp Presented by Vanderbilt Health: July 15

Dante Fabbro completed his first full NHL season in 2019-20, and now he's back for more.
The 22-year-old found himself alongside Mattias Ekholm last season, and the two have been together again during training camp, presumably set to make up Nashville's second pairing on the backend.

Fabbro was relied upon consistently last season too - he skated in 64 games during his first full NHL season, tallying 11 points (5g-6a). He was tied for the fourth-most goals (5) and played in the fourth-most games (64) in a single season among rookie blueliners in Predators history. Fabbro averaged 19:02 of ice time, the fifth-most among NHL rookie defensemen (min. 41 GP).
Fabbro continues to become more comfortable in his role, and he'll be expected to be a reliable presence once more for the Preds in 2021.
By the Numbers:
- Fabbro made his NHL debut with the Predators on March 30, 2019, versus Columbus and went on to play in four total regular-season games in 2018-19. He scored his first career NHL goal on April 6, 2019, versus Chicago to help the Predators clinch their second consecutive Central Division title.
- He played three seasons of collegiate hockey for Boston University from 2016-19, appearing in 111 games while posting 80 points (22g-58a), the most among team defensemen in that span.
- Fabbro was named the 2015-16 BCHL Top Defenseman and a BCHL First-Team All-Star while playing for the Penticton Vees, leading all league blueliners in points (67).
Fun Fact:
- Fabbro listed the Nashville Predators as his favorite NHL team growing up, and his two sisters, Gina and Sophia, played soccer at Austin Peay State University in Clarksville, Tennessee, northwest of Nashville.
