gnash-vote

Nashville, Tenn. (October 20, 2020) - The Nashville Predators have partnered with Congressman Jim Cooper on his nonpartisan, public information initiative, VoteEarlyTN, which aims to educate and excite people about the power and benefit of early voting. In support of VoteEarlyTN's efforts, the Predators have adopted the seventh day of early voting - Wednesday, October 21 - as the Seventh Day for the Seventh Man.

"There is nothing more important to move this community forward than first, registering to vote and then obviously participating in the vote," Nashville Predators President & CEO Sean Henry said. "Our goal is pretty simple - we want to engage with our employees and all of our fans to make it easier for everyone to vote, and to that end, we created the Seventh Day for the Seventh Man. We want all of our fans and all of our employees to go out and vote and make it as easy as possible to do so."
Considering the challenges and uncertainty caused by COVID-19, VoteEarlyTN's goal is to reduce risk at the polls by showing that early voting is a proven method to ensure the voting process is safe, healthy and effective for all Tennesseans. Early voting can be a proactive solution to challenges including absentee voting restrictions, crowded polling locations and COVID-19 risks. Early voting allows voters to reduce their wait time, pick a day that fits their schedule and avoid postal delays that could potentially occur when voting by mail.
To take part in the Seventh Day for the Seventh Man, the Nashville Predators are encouraging fans to bring their Preds Pride to the polls by wearing GOLD and heading to the closest polling location this Wednesday, October 21 to cast their ballot. For a chance to be featured by the Preds, fans can snap a pic in their GOLD after visiting the polls and tag

on social media.
"The Nashville Predators have always been outstanding leaders, on and off the ice, here in Smashville," Congressman Cooper said. "Their participation will help spread the word about VoteEarlyTN and the importance of voting early in the upcoming presidential election! Every eligible voter in Tennessee needs to know what options are available. When we all vote, we all score."
The Seventh Day for the Seventh Man comes shortly after Secretary of State Tre Hargett presented the Nashville Predators with the National Association of Secretaries of State Medallion Award for their advocacy and dedication to promoting civic and voter engagement. In addition to supporting VoteEarlyTN's efforts, the Preds partnered with Secretary Hargett in January to urge fans to register to vote and show up to the polls. The Predators organization will also close its virtual office on Nov. 3 for all employees who plan to volunteer as poll officials or were unable to vote early and wish to do so on election day.
