In a quiet neighborhood in Franklin, Tennessee, the streets were crowded with cars sporting Preds license plates and bumper stickers.
Inside one of the homes, Predators' wives and girlfriends were hard at work transforming 19-year-old Krystal Adams's bedroom into a beach-themed getaway. Because of her battle with a rare brain tumor, the Predators, in partnership with Special Spaces, wanted to give Krystal the perfect space to relax and unwind.
"A child's room is an escape from their life-threatening conditions," Rhonda McCarthy, wife of Associate Coach Kevin McCarthy and Director of the Nashville chapter of Special Spaces said. "The Preds work with Special Spaces to guarantee every child will always have a space to escape and forget about their pain."

Throughout the eight-hour workday, all hands were on deck. From assembling furniture to applying wallpaper and painting, the Predators ladies were hard at work to give back to Krystal.
With her love of the beach in mind, the small office was transformed into Krystal's dream bedroom, evident in her reaction during the reveal. Shocked by the transformation, her favorite parts of the room included the chandelier, her new ocean-blue walls and a signed hockey stick from her favorite Preds player, Pekka Rinne.
"I'm actually really surprised. I wanted to cry," Krystal said after seeing her redecorated room.
Grinning from ear to ear and hugging her family, seeing Krystal's reaction was well worth it to the ladies of the Predators. Now, Krystal can continue her fight, with the Preds bringing the beach to her.
Special Spaces, a nonprofit dedicated to providing children with their dream bedrooms while battling their serious medical issues, has long been a partner of the Predators.
