The 2022 NHL Draft in Montreal is just days away. Back in person for the first time since 2019 after two virtual drafts held during the COVID-19 pandemic, the Predators will look to once again pick the best available players to bolster their identity.
Nashville will pick 17th in the first round on Thursday, July 7. It is only the second time in franchise history the club has picked in that position, with the Preds last 17th pick being defenseman Dante Fabbro in 2016.

The Predators have not selected a defenseman in the first round since Fabbro, and it's certainly possible General Manager David Poile will be looking to add some depth to the Preds blueline.
If Nashville goes in that direction, here are three defensemen who could hear their name called by the Predators on Thursday evening.
