COLUMBUS, OH - The Edmonton Oilers have acquired defenceman Troy Stecher and a seventh-round selection in the 2024 NHL Draft from the Arizona Coyotes in exchange for a 2027 fourth-round pick.

Stecher, 29, joins the Oilers from Arizona where he's appeared in 47 games this season, notching one goal and four assists. The 5-foot-10, right-shot blueliner saw an average time on ice of 18:26 per game while also chipping in with 67 blocked shots, 53 hits and 11 takeaways.

The Richmond, B.C. product has played for parts of eight seasons in the NHL, recording 19 goals and 89 assists across 487 career games with the Vancouver Canucks, Los Angeles Kings, Calgary Flames and Coyotes. He has also played 21 career games in the Stanley Cup Playoffs, recording four goals and three assists.

Stecher signed a one-year, $1.1 million AAV contract with Arizona on July 1, 2023 and is an unrestricted free agent at the end of the season.
