Veteran winger Milan Lucic believes the Oilers performance in close games is vastly different this season than in years past, when he'd observe the team from the outside.
"We're having guys step up and making big plays, where in the past, a lot of times I think the Oilers were on the losing end of those one-goal games and not picking up the extra point in overtime and stuff like that," said Lucic. "It's just building confidence, no matter what the situation is and having guys step up in big moments and getting some big wins here."
Last night it was Jordan Eberle and Connor McDavid who stepped up in a big way, scoring the third-period equalizer and the game-winning goal in overtime, respectively.
Now riding a four-game win streak, the Oilers have confidence they can get the job done on any given night.
"I think you create a little more swagger when you're on a four-game winning streak," said Lucic. "One game left here on this homestand and it's definitely a big one."
The Oilers host the Nashville Predators on Friday night.
