EDMONTON, AB - The Oilers held an optional practice Friday after returning home from a three-game Central Division road swing, which saw the club go 2-1-0.
The Oilers announced on Friday that Josh Archibald signed a two-year contract extension with the club. Archibald did not hit the ice for the optional but fielded the media regarding his new deal.
Oscar Klefbom was one of several Oilers on Rogers Place ice participating in the light skate. The defenceman hasn't played since Feb. 16 when he logged 30:57 of ice time in a 4-3 overtime win against the Carolina Hurricanes, labouring a shoulder injury since but gearing towards a return.
Oilers Associate Coach Jim Playfair answered questions after practice in the absence of Head Coach Dave Tippett, who was unavailable on Friday.
