Matthews is day to day because of an upper-body injury sustained when he collided with teammate Morgan Rielly with 2:50 remaining in the third period of a 4-3 win at the Pittsburgh Penguins on Saturday. Maple Leafs coach Mike Babcock said Matthews is traveling with the team and remains a possibility to play during the remaining two games of the trip, at the Minnesota Wild on Thursday or the Detroit Red Wings on Friday.
The Flyers return home after sweeping a three-game road trip through Western Canada that ended a 10-game losing streak (0-5-5).
