If Moore had a personal theme song, it would be "I've been everywhere." When he agreed to a one-year contract with the Toronto Maple Leafs on July 1, 2017, it marked a return to one of the 10 teams he's played for during a career that's seen him become one of the NHL's most valuable checking forwards.

The New York Rangers selected Moore in the third round (No. 95) in the 2000 NHL Draft. He joined the Rangers late in the 2003-04 season after playing four seasons at Harvard and made the NHL for good with New York in 2005-06, finishing with 18 points (nine goals, nine assists) in 82 games. But New York traded him to the Pittsburgh Penguins on July 19, 2006, beginning an odyssey that saw him play for eight teams before he returned to the Rangers as a free agent in 2013. The native of Thornhill, Ontario, spent three seasons with New York and one with Boston before returning to the Maple Leafs in 2017..
Moore didn't play during the 2012-13 season; in all, he took an 18-month leave of absence to care for his wife, Kathy, who died from liver cancer on Jan. 7, 2013. He was part of the Rangers' run to the Stanley Cup Final in 2013-14, and won the Bill Masterton Trophy in 2014..
