Pospisil gave Calgary a 1-0 lead at 17:04 of the first period, collecting a pass from Matvei Gridin and sending a wrist shot on net that deflected in off Ullmark's right arm. It was Pospisil's first goal of the season in his 10th game, and it came in his first game back after being a healthy scratch for the past two.
“It was a pretty tight game until the end,” Pospisil said. “We have to find a way to score some key goals. I think we have to bring way more energy. It’s not the way we want to play. We have a tough schedule, lots of games, so we have to turn around and we have to get better.”
Eller tied it 1-1 at 9:35 of the second period when he one-timed a Ridly Greig cross-ice feed to the glove side from the top of the right face-off circle.
“A lot of times it’s about just doing all the work that leads to getting those looks,” Eller said. “Some games you’re not getting the looks at all, so it’s nice. Sometimes you only get [good chances] once a game and tonight I got one in a good spot and it was just, ‘Let it go’ and good to see it get in.”
Tim Stutzle scored a short-handed, empty-net goal at 17:59 of the third period to make it 3-1, and Shane Pinto also scored into an empty net at 19:46 for the 4-1 final.
“I had a lot of looks,” Stutzle said. “Their goalie made some great saves. You’ve got to give him credit and I’ve just got to find a way to put those in, but it was a big win. Huge team effort. I think in the second and third everybody played great and those are big points for us.”
NOTES: Stutzle extended his point streak to 11 games (seven goals, eight assists). He also became the first Senators player to record multiple 11-game point streaks in a single season after his 13-game run from Dec. 9, 2025 – Jan. 5, 2026. ... Ottawa forward David Perron was traded to the Detroit Red Wings on Thursday for a conditional fourth-round pick in the 2026 NHL Draft. He has 25 points (10 goals, 15 assists) in 49 games this season.
