DEVILS (16-18-8) at OILERS (21-15-7)
9 p.m. ET; SNW, MSG+, NHL.TV

Devils team scope

Forward Taylor Hall will play his first game at the Edmonton Oilers since being traded to the New Jersey Devils on June 29. Hall played his former team for the first time at New Jersey on Saturday, a 2-1 Devils loss. "It's going to be different, the first few shifts and warmup, that type of thing, is going to be a bit awkward, a feeling out process just for myself," Hall said. "I think as the game goes on, I'll get used to it. Like the game in New Jersey, it just became a hockey game by the end of it and I hope I can get to that point sooner than in New Jersey." The Devils are on a three-game losing streak (0-2-1) and are playing the first of a four-game road trip. "It's tough in the middle of a season to say any stretch is a make or break," coach John Hynes said, "but] it's a situation where we have to play better hockey, we have to find a way to win some games, get some points and move on and get our game back." Center Blake Coleman will make his NHL debut, recalled from Albany of the American Hockey League along with defenseman Karl Stollery on Tuesday. "I'm extremely excited, it's something I've been waiting for since I was a little kid," said Coleman, who will play on the third line between Devante Smith-Pelly and Nick Lappin. "I'm sure I'll have a lot of emotions going into it and I'll just let the game come to me."

Oilers team scope

The Oilers have lost two straight games and four of their past six games (2-3-1). Defenseman Brandon Davidson will return after missing the past four games with an illness. "I'm excited, I'm ready to put all that misery behind me," Davidson said. "I want to kind of get my season going and am really looking forward to being a part of this again." Davidson, who sustained a shoulder injury in the season opener and missed the next 30 games, has one assist in eight games this season. Forward Jujhar Khaira will make his season debut, recalled from Bakersfield of the AHL on Wednesday. Khaira had two assists in 15 games with Edmonton last season. "I know what to expect and I know I can play in this league," Khaira said. "I just have to go out there and prove it. I'm going to take it game-by-game right now and try to build off every game and try to give myself every opportunity to stay here." The Oilers are prepared to face Hall in Edmonton for the first time. "It's definitely a different experience going up against him," center Ryan Nugent-Hopkins said, "but tonight it should be interesting especially for him, because he still has a lot of fans here."
