Players to watch

Bruins goalie Tuukka Rask, who will start for the third time this season, is 1-5-1 against the Avalanche despite a 2.00 goals-against average and .929 save percentage. He stopped 19 of 22 shots in Boston's 4-0 loss to Colorado at TD Garden on Monday.
Avalanche goalie Semyon Varlamov will make his second consecutive start. He made 29 saves Monday for his 22nd NHL shutout. He is 2-0-0 with a 1.00 GAA and .971 save percentage.

Heinen was recalled from Providence of the American Hockey League on Tuesday. ... Barberio will replace Lindholm after being a healthy scratch the past two games.
