Marchand, who missed the Bruins' 3-1 loss against the Chicago Blackhawks on Sunday because of an upper-body injury, said he wouldn't have been able to play if the Bruins had a game Monday but was feeling better after the morning skate.
The Bruins are second in the Atlantic Division, six-points behind the first-place Tampa Bay Lightning.
Goaltender Cam Ward is expected to start for the Hurricanes, who lost 6-3 against the New York Rangers on Monday. They are seven points behind the New Jersey Devils for the second wild card into the Stanley Cup Playoffs in the Eastern Conference.
