Marko Dano Winnipeg Jets anthem Edmonton 2017 December 31

PHILADELPHIA--After having his first practice with the team on Sunday, new Colorado Avalanche forward Marko Dano will make his season debut tonight against the Philadelphia Flyers at Wells Fargo Center.
The forward was claimed on waivers from the Winnipeg Jets last Monday and will play on a line with Tyson Jost and Gabriel Bourque as head coach Jared Bednar makes a few edits to his forward combinations.
"They haven't been getting any production, so we are kind of looking for options," Bednar said of mixing up his attack units. "In my opinion, we got a bunch of guys auditioning for a second line, a line that can help us produce offensively… We are going to keep looking at guys and trying to put guys in different spots so we keep moving this team forward."

The change in the forward groupings will also put Sven Andrighetto, Alexander Kerfoot and Colin Wilson together on the second line for the Avalanche.
Semyon Varlamov will make his sixth start between the pipes for Colorado this season. The netminder is 3-0-2 in five games and is ranked tied for seventh in the NHL in wins (three) and sixth in both save percentage (.948) and goals-against average (1.77).
Bednar did not mention defensive pairings, but they are expected to be the same as they were in Colorado's 3-1 win at the Carolina Hurricanes on Saturday.
Below is the Avalanche's projected lineup. All forward combinations and defensive couplings are subject to change.
