The 2006-07 Ducks opened 3-0-2 on the way to a 12-0-4 start and the Stanley Cup. Anaheim won its first three games this season before a 3-2 shootout loss to the Arizona Coyotes on Wednesday.
The Stars look for their sixth consecutive win at home against the Ducks since the beginning of the 2015-16 season. Dallas opened this season with two wins before a 7-4 loss to the Toronto Maple Leafs on Tuesday.
Goalie Anton Khudobin, who signed a two-year, $5 million contract (average annual value $2.5 million) with the Stars on July 1, will make his first start for Dallas.

Players to watch

Ducks forward Ryan Kesler made his season debut Tuesday against Arizona and had one goal, playing 16:54. Kesler, 34, was limited to 44 games and 14 points (eight goals, six assists) last season following offseason hip surgery in 2017.
Stars forward Tyler Seguin, with eight points (three goals, five assists) in his past two games, can become the first player in Stars/Minnesota North Stars history with at least four points in three straight games and the 10th in NHL history to do so. The last was Detroit Red Wings center Steve Yzerman from March 5-10, 1993.
