SEATTLE, Wash. - July 13, 2022 -Today, the Seattle Kraken (@SeattleKraken) announced that they have agreed to terms with left wing Andre Burakovsky to a five-year contract ($5.5 AAV).
"Andre brings offensive skill and creativity to our forward group," said Seattle Kraken General Manager Ron Francis. "He has won two Stanley Cups, has good size and has been a very productive offensive contributor. We are excited he is signing with us."

Burakovsky, 27, recorded career highs in points (61), goals (22) and assists (39) in a career-best 80 games played with the Colorado Avalanche in 2021-22. He ranked fifth on the team in points, seventh in goals, and tied for third in game-winning goals (5). His plus-12 rating was tied for the second-highest mark of his career while he set a career mark with 149 shots on goal and tied a career-best with four power-play tallies. Burakovsky scored his first career playoff overtime winner in Game 1 of the Stanley Cup Final vs. Tampa Bay and registered eight points (three goals, five assists) in 12 playoff games as the Avalanche won the 2022 Stanley Cup.
The six-foot-three, 201-pound native of Sweden (born in Klagenfurt, Austria) has posted 295 career points (123 goals, 172 assists) and a plus-61 rating in 519 career NHL games with Colorado and the Washington Capitals. He has scored the seventh-most goals among his 2013 draft class and the ninth-most points after being selected 23rd overall by Washington. The 27-year-old has added 47 points (20 goals, 27 assists) in 93 career playoff games and has been a part of two Stanley Cup-winning teams: the Washington Capitals in 2018 and the Colorado Avalanche in 2022. His 47 postseason points are the fourth-most among players drafted in 2013.
Burakovsky played his final junior season (2013-14) for the Erie Otters of the Ontario Hockey League (OHL), notching 87 points (41 goals, 45 assists) in 57 regular-season games and putting up 13 points (10 goals, three assists) in 14 playoff games that year. Prior coming to North America, Burakovsky played for the Malmo Redhawks at both the junior and professional level. He recorded 49 points (20 goals, 29 assists) in 55 regular-season games at the J20 level and had 12 points (four goals, eights assists) in 53 games for the Redhawks in HockeyAllsvenskan, the second-highest men's professional league in Sweden.
Although born in Austria, Burakovsky represents Sweden in international competition. Burakovsky has been a part of Sweden's national team at the 2012 and 2013 U18 World Junior Championship, the 2014 World Junior Championship and the 2016 World Championship, winning a silver medal in 2012 and 2014. Burakovsky played with Kraken forward Alexander Wennberg in both 2014 and 2016, and Kraken defenseman Adam Larsson was also a part of Sweden's 2016 World Championship roster.
