PP CONFIDENCE
The Jets power play looked like it was back on track after going 1-for-3 against the Blackhawks last Saturday. But the man advantage wasn't as sharp on Tuesday against the Seattle Kraken going 0-for-3.
"I think right now we're a little bit too predictable and the pucks not moving quick enough," said Rick Bowness.
"Which makes it very easy for the penalty killers. They are putting a lot of focus on taking Kyle Connor's one-timer away on the side. So, we've got to make some adjustments."
GOOD START
Since the Jets have come out of the All-Star/player break, they have looked sharp in the opening period in both of their games. Although they haven't scored in either opening frame, they have been the better team. Rick Bowness feels penalties have been stealing the momentum built from their five-on-five play and they need to find a way to get some goals.
"Go back to our last game against Seattle, they didn't have a shot in the first 10-11 minutes of the period," said Bowness.
"We've got to capitalize on some of those early chances. Against Chicago, we were in their zone a lot, but we weren't getting any shots through to the net and against Seattle, we had some looks that didn't go in. When we have the good looks, you'd like to see some of those go in the net and give us a little boost."
