Paul enters his seventh season as the radio voice of the Winnipeg jets. In this role, he has called nearly 400 games, covered the NHL Draft, produced and hosted countless on-air hockey shows, written columns and blogs and covered the team's four playoff appearances including the exciting run to the Western Conference Final in 2017-18. His vast hockey broadcasting background also includes notable experience with the Manitoba Moose, Phoenix Mustangs, Colorado Gold Kings, Regina Pats and Selkirk Steelers.
Prior to advancing to the NHL, the Winnipeg product also spent 20 seasons in professional baseball, including 19 as the voice of the Winnipeg Goldeyes. During this tenure he received several awards such as Baseball Digest's broadcaster of the year, a Toastmaster's communications award, induction into the Manitoba Sportswriters and Sportscasters Association Media Roll of Honour and - most distinctively - a 2019 induction into the Manitoba Baseball Hall of Fame.
An avid outdoorsman, Paul possesses a tremendous passion for fishing and boating while enjoying his summers on the Winnipeg River. He and his family reside in St. Andrews and are actively involved in local hockey, baseball, volleyball and music.
Veteran sports broadcaster Jamie Thomas brings his long-time passion for hockey and considerable broadcasting experience as half of the Winnipeg Jets/680 CJOB gameday radio broadcasting duo, bringing colour commentary to Paul Edmonds's play-by-play each and every Winnipeg Jets gameday.
Thomas returned to the prairies in 2017 bringing 20 years of sports broadcasting experience the JetsTV team. He spent three seasons engaging fans as host of the JetsTV pre and post-game shows and by providing trusted and in-depth coverage of everything from the Jets' day-to-day to team milestones and league events including the historical 2018 playoff run and #WPGWhiteout, and NHL Draft and All-Star Game.
His robust broadcasting career has included reporting, anchoring, hosting, writing, and providing colour and analysis across the entire pro sports landscape, including the NHL, CFL and MLB.
Thomas co-hosted TSN 1150's morning sports radio show in Hamilton, anchored Sportsnet Central and hosted hundreds of NHL and Blue Jays post-game shows. As Sportsnet's Albert bureau reporter, Thomas covered the Oilers, Stampeders and Eskimos and also served as the host of Calgary Flames broadcasts from 2006 to 2008. He spent his early career as a sports anchor/reporter in Lethbridge, Saskatoon, Winnipeg and Edmonton.
