Samberg to represent USA at 2023 IIHF World Hockey Championship

24-year-old defenceman last played for USA at 2019 World Junior Championship

Winnipeg Jets defenceman Dylan Samberg will wear the red, white, and blue of Team USA at the 2023 IIHF World Hockey Championship this month.

The 24-year-old had two goals and eight points in 63 games with the Winnipeg Jets this season and played all five games in the Stanley Cup Playoffs.

Samberg has represented his country on the international stage on two other occasions, both coming at the World Junior Championship. In 2018, the Hermantown, MN product had one goal and four points in seven games, helping USA to a bronze medal.

The following winter, in 2019, he had two helpers in seven games, and earned a silver medal.

The 2023 World Championship - held in Tampere, Finland and Riga, Latvia - begins on May 12. Samberg and USA are in Pool A with Austria, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Hungary, and Sweden.
