OTTAWA -All season, the Winnipeg Jets have never taken the Ottawa Senators lightly.
Winnipeg won the first four meetings between the two clubs, but have split the last four since Feb. 13.
Tonight - in the second last meeting between the two clubs - the Jets are trying to climb out of a six-game losing skid against a surging Senators squad that is 5-1-1 in their last seven games.
"You watch them play, it's house money and they've got lots of speed, they're making plays," said Jets head coach Paul Maurice. "We're going to have to play our asses off to beat them. I thought we did the last time in here."

The Jets (27-20-3) will also get a boost in their line-up as Adam Lowry is set to return after missing the last four games with a neck injury, the result of a check from Toronto Maple Leafs forward Alex Galchenyuk on April 22.

Lowry skated in his familiar centre spot between Andrew Copp and Mason Appleton in Sunday's practice, a trio that Maurice likes to use in both offensive and defensive situations.
Perhaps the biggest boost Lowry can bring is on the penalty kill, where the Jets have struggled over the past six games. They've allowed multiple goals against on the penalty kill in three of those outings, going a combined 12-for-18.
"The penalty kill is a key piece of what we do and it's lost some confidence. So, we're just out of lanes a little bit, where we hadn't been before," said Maurice. "When (Lowry) comes back in our lineup, you get more confidence that you can shut a team down and you can shut a (penalty) kill down. In our last win, we killed a 5-on-3 and that just fired our bench right up and away we go."
With Lowry's return, Jansen Harkins comes out of the line-up while Kristian Vesalainen will slot in on the left wing with Nate Thompson and Trevor Lewis.
"I started feeling good with the puck," said Vesalainen, who has played in three straight games. "I have to be a little bit better too. I know I can be pretty good on the puck too."
On the blue line, Maurice will make another change. Logan Stanley will play his first game since April 24. Jordie Benn - who has played the last three games - comes out.
"I needed to get a look at Jordie here just on a consecutive set of games, and I like what I saw," said Maurice. "We feel that Stan has something when he's on his A game that makes him a little bit different than everybody else because he does move the puck very well for a big man. And we're going to get into a heavy series one way or the other."
With all those changes - on top of Laurent Brossoit starting in goal - the Jets line-up is expected to look like this:
Connor-Scheifele-Wheeler
Stastny-Dubois-Perreault
Copp-Lowry-Appleton
Vesalainen-Thompson-Lewis
Morrissey-Poolman
Forbort-Pionk
Stanley-DeMelo
The 22-year-old Stanley has four points in the 33 games he's played this season and is fourth among NHL rookies in plus-minus at +11.
"I've got to play my game, which is simple and good defensively and playing hard. I just have to control what I can control and try to be the best that I can," said Stanley. "I think there's pressure with every game, especially when you're a younger guy trying to solidify yourself in the lineup. There's definitely pressure. I think having played a few games this year, I've got my feet wet and am more comfortable with it now."
Even though he hasn't dressed in the past three games, Stanley feels the team has taken strides as it looks to get back in the win column after a tough home stand.
"I think everybody's maybe a little bit frustrated with it, but I think our game's getting better the last few games. We've played better," said Stanley. "A couple bounces haven't gone our way but that's going to turn around for us. But we've got a really group in here with good leadership and a lot of good hockey players. It's been maybe a frustrating last few games, but I think we're going to come out of it on top."
Maurice agrees with the defenceman, citing that Winnipeg's five-on-five play has probably been the most dramatic improvement.
"We've given up two even-strength goals with our goalie in the net. I like that," Maurice said, adding that every night the team needs to reach that level to keep improving.
"The opportunity for momentum change happens every single time the puck drops," Maurice said. "You can get on a team for sure or they can get on you, but there's an opportunity to change momentum every time that you touch the ice."
Puck drop is set for 6 pm CT.
