Lajoie, 25, has earned six assists in 17 AHL games with Chicago in 2022-23 and was named the team's captain on Nov. 8. The 6'1", 185-pound defenseman has posted 93 points (15g, 78a) in 211 career AHL games with Belleville and Chicago and added eight points (4g, 4a) in 18 playoff games last season to help the Wolves win the 2022 Calder Cup. He has skated in three NHL games with the Hurricanes this season and has now played eight NHL games with Carolina over the past two campaigns. Lajoie has skated in 70 career NHL games with Ottawa and Carolina since debuting with the Senators in 2018-19, registering 15 points (7g, 8a). The Quebec City, Que., native was drafted by Ottawa in the fifth round, 133rd overall, of the 2016 NHL Draft and acquired by Carolina in exchange for Clark Bishop on Jan. 12, 2021.
