CALGARY - The Flames will have a veteran-laden roster this evening when they face the Edmonton Oilers in their final regular season game of the season.
After sitting out of the last two games as healthy scratches, defencemen Mark Giordano, TJ Brodie, Travis Hamonic, and Noah Hanifin will be back in the lineup this evening. Up front, the likes of Johnny Gaudreau, Mikael Backlund, Elias Lindholm, James Neal, and Michael Frolik are all expected to play.
Sean Monahan's status for this evening's tilt has not been determined. Head coach Bill Peters told the media this morning Monahan will be a game-time decision.
Matthew Tkachuk took part in regular line rushes this morning but skated late, indicating he could be a healthy scratch tonight.
In net, Mike Smith is expected to get the nod. He's gone 23-15-2 with a 2.72 GAA and a .898 save percentage this season.
