Nick Bjugstad and Michael Carcone scored, and Connor Ingram made 27 saves, but the Arizona Coyotes fell to the Chicago Blackhawks 5-2 at Mullett Arena on Tuesday.

Seth Jones scored twice, and Nick Foligno, Jason Dickinson, and Philipp Kurashev each added goals as the Blackhawks snapped a seven-game losing streak with the win. Arvid Söderblom made 37 saves to earn his third win of the season.

All of Chicago’s goals came on the power play, finishing 4-for-5 with the man advantage.

"We took bad penalties," head coach André Tourigny said. "Too many men, again. That's unacceptable. We took penalties in the O-zone. That's one of the problems. You cannot win games if you don't win battles."

Recap: Blackhawks at Coyotes 3.5.24

Jones got the Blackhawks on the board first with a power-play goal at 10:54 of the first period after his wrist shot redirected off Troy Stecher’s stick and found its way past Ingram.

Bjugstad evened it up 2:07 into the second period, snapping a shot past Söderblom to make it 1-1, but Foligno restored Chicago’s lead just over two minutes later with another power-play goal, redirecting Connor Bedard’s pass right in front of the net past Ingram.

"We've spent a lot of time in the box this year, and it's cost us," Bjugstad said. "Situations like that, we have to find ways to kill it, obviously. I'm guilty, we're all guilty in this room of taking penalties."

Carcone answered back with his 17th goal of the season at 11:42 of the middle frame, beating Söderblom from a bad angle to even the score at two.

Chicago responded with two more power-play goals, as Dickinson and Kurashev scored four minutes apart to send the Blackhawks into the second intermission with a 4-2 lead, and Jones iced the game with an empty-netter -- his second goal of the game -- in the waning moments of the third.

Arizona and Chicago meet once more this season, on Sunday in Chicago.

"We know in this room when we're playing good, and how to play good, and a lot of it comes down to effort," Bjugstad said. "There's a lot of learning going on in this room, for sure."

The Coyotes are back in action on Thursday, hosting the Minnesota Wild in the second of three straight home games. Puck drop is scheduled for 7 pm MST, and the game will be broadcast on Arizona 61 (TV) and available to stream (audio) on the Arizona Coyotes, NHL, and Arizona Sports apps.
