It was a 20-minute show that came down to the wire as the Blackhawks completed their fifth training camp scrimmage on Thursday at Fifth Third Arena.

A dramatic equalizer as the clock ran out sent the single-period game to a shootout, where Team Red took the 2-1 win over Team Black.

RETURN TO PLAY

Philipp Kurashev helped open the scoring just past the midway point of the lone period, circling out to the top of the slot and firing a puck towards the net. After hitting a body in front, the puck fell to Nicolas Beaudin at the side of the cage for the quick goal after the scramble.

Team Red seemed poised to take the victory until the dying seconds when Dylan Strome redirected a shot-pass from Slater Koekkoek at the side of the net to knot the game 1-1.

The game went right into a three-round shootout, where Brent Seabrook and Dylan Sikura converted their chances for Team Red while Malcolm Subban denied Jonathan Toews and Patrick Kane to secure the 2-1 shootout win for Red.
