The Blackhawks were back to work on Wednesday, practicing at MB Ice Arena in Chicago ahead of their home game against Buffalo on Thursday.
David Kampf (right foot) who was announced out 3-4 weeks as of Feb. 7, was on the ice with his teammates. Drake Caggiula (concussion) and Cam Ward (knee) were absent.
Collin Delia was recalled on emergency basis on Tuesday to deal with the loss of Ward.
As practice began, the club announced they have agreed to terms with Red Deer Rebels forward Reese Johnson on a three-year deal.
