Blackhawks recall Hinostroza, assign Kero

The Chicago Blackhawks announced today that they have recalled forward Vinnie Hinostroza from the American Hockey League's Rockford IceHogs and assigned forward Tanner Kero to Rockford.
Hinostroza leads the IceHogs and shares 11th in the American Hockey League with 22 points (9G, 13A) in 23 games this season. The Bartlett, Illinois, native has six multi-point games with the IceHogs. He set a season high with three assists in Rockford's victory over Texas on Dec. 2. He logged a season-long six-game point streak where he tallied four goals and six assists from Oct. 14-25.

The University of Notre Dame alum has registered 14 points (6G, 8A) in 56 career National Hockey League games. He has also skated in one Stanley Cup Playoff game with the Blackhawks. Hinostroza, 23, notched his first NHL goal on Nov. 19, 2016 at Vancouver, adding two assists in Chicago's victory. He recorded three multi-point performances in 49 games last season.
Kero has appeared in eight games this year, tallying a goal and two helpers. He has 22 points (8G, 14A) in 72 games over the last three seasons.
The Blackhawks host the Buffalo Sabres tonight at the United Center at 7:30 p.m. (CT).
