Wednesday, January 18: Texas 4, Manitoba 3
Denis Gurianov scored the game-winning goal for the second straight game as the Texas Stars defeated Manitoba, 4-3, in Cedar Park Wednesday night. Gurianov scored on a breakaway with 7:03 remaining in the third period to put Texas up 4-2 over the Moose. Gemel Smith, Julius Honka, and Jason Dickinson also scored for the Stars. Landon Bow stopped 24 of 27 shots to get the win in goal.
Friday, January 20: Texas 3, Iowa 2 (OT)
Nick Ebert scored two goals, including the game-winner 2:00 into overtime, to lift the Stars to a 3-2 win in Iowa on Friday. Iowa forced overtime by scoring with 5.3 seconds left in regulation. Matt Mangene also scored for the Stars, who won their third straight game and gave head coach Derek Laxdal his 100th career win in the AHL. Landon Bow stopped 24 of 26 shots.
Saturday, January 21: Iowa 3, Texas 2
Texas captain Travis Morin scored two goals and goaltender Landon Bow made a season-high 39 saves, but the Stars' three-game winning streak came to an end with a 3-2 loss at Iowa Saturday night. Morin's first goal of the game early in the second period tied the game 1-1, but Iowa scored the next two and held on for the win after Morin scored late in the third.
