Dallas Stars announce Marty Turco and Les Jackson as 2026 Inductees to the Dallas Stars Hall of Fame

FRISCO, Texas – The Dallas Stars Hall of Fame Selection Committee announced today their election of Marty Turco and Les Jackson as the 2026 class of the Dallas Stars Hall of Fame. Turco was selected as part of the Player Category and Jackson was selected as part of the Builder Category. Now in its fifth year, the Dallas Stars Hall of Fame seeks to recognize players and/or staff members who have positively impacted the Dallas Stars franchise in such a way that their contributions cannot be overlooked.

Turco and Jackson will be officially inducted during the Dallas Stars Hall of Fame Weekend from Dec. 10-12. Both inductees will participate in the annual Dallas Stars Hall of Fame Induction Gala at Comerica Center on Thursday, Dec. 10, which will honor the inductees and feature a live concert performance presented by Grey Goose with a musical artist to be announced at a later date. The weekend will conclude with the Hall of Fame Game and a ceremonial puck drop prior to the Dallas Stars contest against the St. Louis Blues on Saturday, Dec. 12 (7 p.m. CT).

Not only does he hold nearly every goaltending record in our history books, but he also has spent three decades being a major part of the Dallas/Fort Worth community."

He joined the Minnesota North Stars as an assistant coach in 1985 and held nearly every role in hockey operations, including co-general manager, assistant general manager, scout and advisor. He is one of the most widely respected individuals in the hockey community and we are thrilled to celebrate his impact and legacy."

About Marty Turco:

Selected in the fifth round (124th overall) of the 1993 NHL Draft, Turco appeared in 509 regular-season games with Dallas from 2000 - 2010, earning a 262-154-63 record with a .911 save percentage and 2.31 goals-against average. In the postseason, Turco backstopped the club in 47 contests with a 21-26 record, .914 save percentage and 2.17 goals-against average. Among franchise goaltenders, he ranks first in career wins (262), games played (509) and shutouts (40). The native of Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario was named to the NHL All-Star Game on three occasions (2003, 2004, 2007) and represented Team Canada at the 2006 Winter Olympics in Turin, Italy. He won the NHL Foundation Player Award in 2005-06, which was presented annually “to the player who applies the core values of hockey – commitment, perseverance and teamwork – to enrich the lives of people in his community.” Turco re-joined the Stars after the conclusion of his professional career, where he currently serves as Chairman of the Board of the Dallas Stars Foundation. He has also served as Dallas Stars Foundation President (2018-2024) and special assistant to President and CEO Brad Alberts (2018-present).

About Les Jackson:

Jackson spent 33 seasons with the franchise and is widely considered as one of the best talent evaluators in the history of the NHL. He held numerous titles during his tenure with the club, including co-general manager, assistant general manager, assistant coach and special advisor to the general manager. The native of Manning, Alberta helped build the Stars into one of the most consistent and competitive franchises in the League thanks to his keen eye for drafting, development and roster management. Learning from the tutelage of some of the most respected general managers such as Bob Clarke, Bob Gainey and Lou Nanne, Jackson helped the club select future NHL stars such as Mike Modano, Derian Hatcher, Richard Matvichuk, Jere Lehtinen, Jamie Lagenbrunner, Marty Turco, Jarome Iginla, Brenden Morrow, Loui Eriksson, Jamie Benn, John Klingberg, Radek Faksa and Esa Lindell.

About the Dallas Stars Hall of Fame:

The Dallas Stars Hall of Fame recognizes players and/or staff members who have positively impacted the Dallas Stars Hockey Club in such a way that their contributions cannot be overlooked. The two categories of the Dallas Stars Hall of Fame are Player (Skater/Goaltender) and Builder (Executive Level Staff or Coach). A maximum of one Player and one Builder are eligible for selection in any election period and there is no requirement that the maximum of either category is reached in any given election period.

Players must demonstrate exceptional attributes in the areas of playing ability, sportsmanship, character and contributions to the Dallas Stars Hockey Club, while builders are evaluated on their demonstration of exceptional attributes in coaching, managerial or executive ability, or ability in another significant off-ice role, sportsmanship, character and contributions to the Dallas Stars Hockey Club and to the game of hockey in general.

Any player who had their number retired by the Dallas Stars Hockey Club received immediate inclusion into the Dallas Stars Hall of Fame without consideration by the Selection Committee. Similarly, all owners of the Dallas Stars Hockey Club received automatic induction as Builders without consideration by the Selection Committee.
