Sharks Announce Pregame Festivities on Opening Night presented by SAP

SAN JOSE, CA - The San Jose Sharks (@SanJoseSharks) announced today that it will host FREE pregame festivities prior to Sharks Opening Night presented by SAP, the first regular-season home game of the 2021-22 season. The Sharks will host the Winnipeg Jets on Saturday, October 16 at SAP Center at San Jose (@SAPCenter) at 7 p.m.

Sharks Opening Night presented by SAP pre-game festivities will include the March to the Tank in cooperation with the Teal City Crew, a procession of Sharks Fans heading to the game together. The march is open to all who are interested in participating and will be led by Sharks mascot S.J. Sharkie (@SJSharkie) and members of the Teal City Crew. The March to the Tank will begin at San Pedro Square in downtown San Jose at 5:45 p.m. and will culminate outside of SAP Center at 6:15 p.m.

Additionally, NBC Sports California will host its Sharks Pregame Live show from Barack Obama Blvd. outside of SAP Center (Between Santa Clara St. and W. St. John St.) from 6:30 - 7 p.m. Hosted by Brodie Brazil (@BrodieNBCS) and with expert analysis from Drew Remenda, Sharks Pregame Live will breakdown the Sharks-Jets match-up, provide the latest line-up news with its Pre Game Rush, and let you hear from Sharks players and Head Coach Bob Boughner about the 2021-2022 season opener.

Other activities to take place on Barack Obama Blvd. include a Sharks-themed chalk-art exhibition that will feature the artwork of 12 artists - a mix of local professional artists and street painters from Sharks Territory - on the street and the San Jose Sharks Fire Engine.

Fans coming to the game are encouraged to arrive early and to be in their seats for a special Opening Night show including on-ice projection and more. As a reminder, all guests attending SAP Center events, including Sharks hockey games, must show proof of vaccination for COVID-19 upon entry. Guests are strongly encouraged to create a Health Pass Account with CLEAR via their mobile app to provide proof of full vaccination. Guests without a smartphone and/or the CLEAR app will likely experience delays in entering SAP Center due to additional required screening.

Plans for the pregame festivities are subject to change and are weather permitting. Up-to-date information will be available at www.sjsharks.com.

A limited number of tickets to Sharks Opening Night presented by SAP are still available for purchase at the Ticket Office at SAP Center or at www.ticketmaster.com. All fans in attendance will receive a "Welcome Back Pack" giveaway presented by SAP that includes a magnet schedule, special edition pin, and digital fan experience.
