New Kids On The Block
Jacob Peterson and Nikita Okhotiuk were acquired by the Sharks on March 3 and Feb. 26, respectively. Peterson was sixth on the team in goals at the time of the trade while Okhotiuk has appeared in 10 NHL games this season. Shakir Mukhamadullin, acquired on Feb. 26, led all team defensemen in scoring this season and was the second-highest scoring under-21 KHL defenseman. Henry Thrun was acquired by the Sharks from Anaheim on Feb. 28 in exchange for a third-round selection in the 2024 draft. Thrun has had three productive seasons with Harvard, and he ranks fourth on the Crimson in points and second in assists. Amongst all NCAA defensemen, he ranks ninth in points-per-game (0.75). Arvid Henrikson, acquired on March 3, is set to begin CCHA Playoffs play against Minnesota State-Mankato tonight.

Doing His Viely Best
Jeff Viel has found his scoring touch recently and is riding a four-game point streak (2g, 4a). He recorded a career-best three assists on Feb. 20 at Abbotsford and reached the 20-point threshold on Feb. 24.
Other prospect notables:
William Eklund was recalled on March 3 by San Jose following the trade deadline. Eklund was second on the Barracuda in scoring at the time of his recall and had recorded points in 13 of his last 17 games.
• Tristen Robins has notched seven points (2g, 5a) in his last seven games and he is now tied-fifth among active Barracuda skaters in assists. He registered back-to-back multi-point games on Feb. 18 and Feb. 20.
• Alex Young finished regualr season play with an 18-game point streak and hasn't been held off the scoresheet in three months (Nov. 26 @ Niagara). The center's 19 goals are tied for the 11th-most in college hockey this season and his 36 points this campaign are the most by a Colgate skater since 2016.
• Jake Furlong tallied points in six consecutive contests from Feb. 8 through Feb. 24, totaling 10 points (1g, 9a) in that span. Furlong's +38 rating on the season is sixth among defensemen.
• Joey Muldowney has points in six of his last seven games and logged a four-game goal/point streak from Feb. 4 through Feb. 17. The winger leads Des Moines in goals and is second in points.
• Michael Fisher appeared in his first game of the season after missing five months due to injury.
• Evgenii Kashnikov, the newly acquired Shakir Mukhamadullin and Yegor Spiridonov's KHL regular seasons came to a close at the end of February. Kashnikov's +7 rating was the fourth-highest on the team and he was the fifth-highest scoring defenseman.
