Here's what the Pens had to say heading into their Metro Division meeting with the NY Rangers…

ON THE RANGERS' IMPROVED SEASON
Crosby: "They've added a couple guys which definitely bring speed and I think prior to that they were a pretty fast team anyway and they got some D that are pretty mobile and can join the rush. Part of playing fast is having speed from individual guys, but it's also making quick decisions and moving the puck up ice quick. They've got a good mix of that."
Hagelin: "Their record speaks for itself. They're a fast team. They score a lot more goals than they have in the past."
Sullivan: "Speed has definitely been a priority for them. In the off-season they've done a nice job of retooling their team. They play a similar style to the way we're trying to play."
ODDS AND ENDS
Guentzel on his NHL debut: "It's special, obviously I worked hard for this and I've just got to take it day-by-day and enjoy it. It's everyone's dream to get to this level, so when you get the chance it's going to be fun and I'm going to enjoy it."
Sheary on being on No. 1 PP: "I'm in the same position (as the second unit). I'm just going to try and find that open ice in the middle and support the guys as much as I can."
Sullivan on the PP without net-front players: "The core of the group is still intact. It's more about plugging guys in that we think can compliment those guys. We have different options. They're different from Hornqvist or Kunitz."
