Crosby was named the center on the NHL Second-Team All-Star squad, the fifth-consecutive year that he has made a postseason All-Star Team. Murray was chosen as the goaltender on the NHL All-Rookie Team.
This is the third time that Crosby has made the NHL's Second All-Star Team, after previously doing so in 2010 and '15. Crosby is also a four-time First-Team All-Star.
By earning a Second-Team All-Star selection, Crosby tied Jaromir Jagr (6 First-Team; 1 Second-Team) for the second-highest number of postseason All-Star Team selections in club history behind Mario Lemieux's nine (5 First-Team; 4 Second-Team).

Murray, whose 32 wins this past season tied for the ninth-highest total by an NHL rookie goalie since 1968, was the first Penguins player to be chosen to the NHL All-Rookie Team since Malkin and Jordan Staal were both named back in 2007. Murray joined Sebastien Caron (2003) and Patrick Lalime (1997) as Pittsburgh goalies chosen for the All-Rookie Team.
Still considered a rookie at the NHL level this year, but in his third professional season, Murray has now garnered postseason All-Star honors in each of his first three years as a pro.
As an American Hockey League rookie with the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins in 2014-15, Murray was chosen to the AHL's First-Team All-Star and All-Rookie squads, in addition to winning Rookie of the Year and Goaltender of the Year. Last year, Murray spent the majority of his second pro season in WBS, resulting in a selection to the AHL's Second-Team All-Star squad.
Since graduating from the AHL level, Murray has guided the Penguins to a pair of Stanley Cup championships, becoming the first goalie in NHL history to win the Stanley Cup clinching game in each of his first two years. His 22 playoff victories and eight Stanley Cup Final wins are the most in NHL history by a goalie playing under the rookie designation. During the 2016 Stanley Cup championship run, Murray equaled the NHL rookie single-playoff record with 15 wins.
