The Pittsburgh Penguins have activated defenseman Marcus Pettersson from injured reserve, it was announced today by general manager Ron Hextall.

Goaltender Maxime Lagace has been re-assigned to the taxi squad.
Pettersson has missed the last nine games after being injured against Washington on Jan. 19. The 6-foot-3, 177-pound blueliner had one goal in four games prior to his injury. In 179 career NHL games, the 24-year old has registered 52 points (6G-46A) and is plus-29.
The Penguins take on the Capitals tonight at 7:00 p.m. at PPG Paints Arena.
