EDMONTON, AB – The Edmonton Oilers will open their 2026 Training Camp on Wednesday with 56 players in attendance (31 forwards, 17 defencemen & eight goalies) competing for a roster spot on Sept. 29 against the Vancouver Canucks.
Head Coach Mike Babcock will lead the Oilers through his first camp as bench boss, working alongside Associate Coach D.J. Smith, Assistant Coach Paul McFarland, Goaltending Coach Peter Aubry and Skills Coach Conor Allen, starting with medicals before the first on-ice sessions at both Rogers Place and the Downtown Community Arena on Thursday.
The team's four-game preseason schedule begins this Saturday, September 21 in a visit to Rogers Place from the Winnipeg Jets before continuing their exhibition slate with road tune-ups on the 22nd and 24th against the Jets and Canucks. The Oilers conclude the preseason on Sept. 26 at home against the Calgary Flames.
Both games against Winnipeg & the home match with Calgary will be streamed live on Oilers+, while the road match against Vancouver will be televised on Sportsnet.
The Oilers will open the 2026-27 regular season with a home-and-away set against the Canucks, starting Tuesday, September 29 and then in Vancouver on Thursday, Oct. 1.
